Is the AWS Solution Architect – Professional Worth It

Amazon Web Services (AWS), has revolutionized how we develop, deploy, maintain and update websites and applications. It is extremely difficult to find the right people to create a coherent cloud business strategy. An AWS certification can help you fill that gap. The AWS Solutions Architect – Professional certification is one of the most sought-after and respected AWS certifications.
IT professionals who have AWS Solutions Architect – Professional certification can earn an average salary of $160,000. This is a testament to the demand for AWS skills. Although the certification is desirable, it may not be a good fit for your career goals. Let’s find out what certification is and what the exam objectives are. There are a few roles that could be suited for this certification.
What is AWS Solution Architect – Professional?
Amazon offers three levels of certifications: professional, associate, or entry. The professional level, especially the solutions architect, is designed to prove that you are capable of building, deploying, and scaling AWS to the required specifications.
It is strongly recommended that test takers have previous professional experience before taking the exam. Amazon recommends that you have at most two years of experience in designing and implementing AWS infrastructure before you take the exam. It’s a smart idea to start your AWS journey with a basic certification such as Cloud Practitioner or Solutions Architect – Associate if you are still a beginner in AWS.

AWS offers a $40 practice exam that is less expensive than the actual exam. It is strongly recommended that you take the practice test before taking the actual exam.
Who Should Take Solutions Architecture – Professional?
It is important to remember that this exam assumes that you have experience using AWS. You have a low chance of earning this certification if you have very little or no experience with cloud computing. Instead, you should earn an associate-level certificate.
This certification is for architects who are already certified. It will validate your knowledge and keep you current in your profession.
Let’s talk about several roles where AWS Solution Architect – Professional would be very beneficial.
AWS Cloud Developers
This cert is an option for developers who work with AWS regularly. There are many reasons why this cert is viable. A typical developer will have a solid understanding of CloudFormation Templates and AWS API’s. There may also be a strong desire for the other side, such as the billing console and management console. An AWS Solutions Architect-Professional certification provides the knowledge and confidence to navigate these business oriented aspects of AWS.
It will not only give developers confidence in the business but also strengthen their existing knowledge. This is especially true for CloudFormation. Many architects oversee everything IaaS-related, including the CloudFormation Templates as well as their associated diagrams.
Product owners
Although most product owners are business-oriented subject matter specialists, there are some cases when a more technologically mature person is required. A product owner acts as a liaison between developers, stakeholders, and the product. A traditional product owner might not be the best fit for a product that is still in its early stages of development.
This is the perfect opportunity to fill that role with an architectural professional who understands the finer points of busin

Is the AWS Security Specialist Certificate Worth It?

Is AWS Security Specialty worth it?
It is difficult to answer the question of whether an IT certification is worth it. It all depends on the certification you are looking for and what it is about. CompTIA A+ certification, for example, is a must-have if you want to get into the IT industry. However, something like the PCEP-30 Python certification (which is a learning experience, not a demonstration of knowledge) is best. It is reasonable to wonder if the AWS security specialty is worth it. This is exactly what we will discuss.
What is the AWS Security Specialty and how can I get it?
Amazon offers the AWS Security Specialty certification as an intermediate certification for IT professionals. It tests and proves that an IT professional is capable of deploying and protecting AWS cloud resources.
The AWS Security Specialty focuses on:
AWS offers specialized data classifications
AWS data protection mechanisms
What data encryption methods can AWS offer?
How to implement data encryption in AWS
What secure internet protocols AWS offers, and how to implement them
Understanding AWS security services
Competency checks to understand the trade-offs between security, costs, complexity of a deployment strategy, and security
Cloud environment security operations and risk management

AWS recommends you have at least 2 years experience in working with security protocols within AWS before you attempt the AWS Security Specialty certificate. Amazon recommends that you have a good understanding of how security controls work in AWS. It is also a good idea to have at least five years experience in designing and implementing security solutions in the IT industry.

What is the AWS Security Specialty Test?
The AWS Security Specialty exam is designed to test your knowledge of best practices in security with AWS products. This certification is similar to the CompTIA Security+ certification but it is only for AWS. You will find that much of the information you have learned for the Security+ certification will also apply to the AWS Security Specialty exam.
Participants will be tested to learn how to implement security protocols within AWS products with the AWS Security Specialty certificate. Amazon offers a variety of tools to support enterprise-grade security operations. These security protocols can be difficult to set up.
Let’s say you need to set up an AWS server that is HIPPA compliant. In this case, you will need to know how to create an independent server and encrypt all data. This is not possible with your standard EC2 instance. You must also know how to protect all communications that come in and out of the server.
What if you have to use Amazon’s managed databases services? How can you protect data from managed database products while remaining HIPPA and HITECH compliant?
These questions are merely rhetorical and intended to give you enough time to understand the scope of this certificate. Although the AWS Security Specialty certificate covers security far beyond HIPPA compliance and HITECH compliance it will still make it easier to deploy secure workloads. It is also important to understand the costs of deploying secure workloads versus those in non-secure environments.
How Much Does the AWS Security Specialistty Exam Cost?
The AWS Security Specialty is $300 USD. It contains 65 multiple-choice and multiple-answer questions. Candidates will have 170 minutes for the exam. Candidates can take the AWS Security Specialty exam in one sitting.

Software Review: BusiBI Project Manager 2016 Version 5.7

**This product is no more available as of February 2022.
General Information
Name: BusiBI Project Manager 2016
Vendor: BusiBI
Options for hosting an iPad
Prices and plans: You can purchase a standalone version for PS3.99 from the UK iTunes Store. In-app purchase of monthly or annual credit packs is possible. You can add a team member for collaboration to your projects for PS7.99 for one year.
Languages: English, German, Spanish, Japanese
Currency: All, but the look and feel of the huge picklist, but you only have one choice.
A tool for managing multiple projects
When I set up BusiBI, the first thing I noticed was that if you only manage one project, many of the features won’t be that useful. It is especially useful when you have to manage multiple projects at once.
Create a New Project
It is easy to create a project. Click on the Projects tab and click Add New. Enter the title, client value, and a brief summary. Next, add the start and end dates. Finally, use the slider to indicate which phase of the project you are in. Finally, you can add a percent completion statement.
You can either allow others to access the project or add their names. You can also add custom fields based on the settings you have made.
Although you don’t need to add all of this information, it took me about a minute to complete it for my project. It’s not difficult.
Task Management
The Actions tab displays your tasks from within your project. This is my opinion, the most limited area of the app. It is impossible to change the order of your tasks. The list’s bottom is the latest task. These are the tasks you see:
BusiBI’s task view when you add them. You can’t hide completed tasks, so if you have a long tasklist you will be scrolling down to see what’s left.
It doesn’t automatically change the percent completion rate if you complete a task. This could be a good thing. However, you must make those changes yourself and do so honestly. There is a chance that your team’s projects may not be completed by the time they are due.
The Bubble Chart
It probably has a proper name, but I’m going with the bubble chart. This is how it looks.
The bubble chart in BusiBI. Remember that I mentioned above that the percent complete does not automatically update? The bubble chart shows that it does. It’s quite cool to drag the bubbles around, and it will change the project’s end date and percent completion. It makes me feel in control!
This screen is very easy to use for reporting at a large picture level. This screen is worth the PS3.99 just for reporting purposes. It takes only a few details to create a portfolio view of all your projects.
The Problem with Value
The project summary is included in the box with the field Value’. This is fine, but it is not how I view my projects. Perhaps you spend a lot time in a consulting environment thinking about the value of each contract. Not in my world where most of my projects are internal.
The best thing about being able change the terminology is that I could rename this field to ‘Priority. This is what I did. I could not give a project a High/Medium/Low ranking because it only allows numeric entries. Instead, I ranked my projects in priority order from 1 to 4.
The bubble chart that displays all projects’ statuses shows them with the priority instead of the financial value. However, the bubbles are still sized according to value. The Portfolio Analysis tab doesn’t update the terminology and my new Priority label still reads: ‘Value. Whatever. It is actually more helpful to filter the portfolio view based on percent complete or end dates to get a real view of what work has been done and what should be. The more projects you have, the better.
